Mission accomplished!
I decided that I would try to kill a deer, any deer, from the ground this year with my bow. Well I pulled it off this morning. This little guy got too close and I let him have it from 8 yards. What a rush! He made it about 50 yards and went down.

Re: Anyone even
I've never been dove hunting. Looks like a blast though. Of course I don't think I've ever done any kind of hunting that I didn't like.

Black on blue. 50 cal ML barrel and 300 win mag rifle barrel. Fore arms on both. ML has a Swift scope mounted that goes with it. The rifle barrel will have rings and base only. The scope shown on the rifle barrel does not go. 700 takes everything else in pic. Willing to drive an hour to meet, but I ...

Re: Putting on a scope
I have always loosely mounted the scope in the rings first. Just enough that I can move it around by hand. Shoulder the rifle as you normally would and see what kind of sight picture you have. Adjust scope so it looks good to you and tighten down. I do it like this because everyone holds a rifle jus...

What's your equipment set up this season?
Just curious to hear what everyone will be using this season. I'll be using my Martin recurve again. My boy is gonna be looking for his first archery kill this year. He'll be chasin' them with a Barnett x-bow.

Sideways pics?
When I post a pic it shows up sideways or rotated 90 whichever you want to call it. How the heck do I keep this from happening? I always post from my I-phone in case that matters.

I've hunted with a 300 win mag for years, but I refinished a 1917 enfield last summer in 30.06 and hunted with it. So now I'm on the fence about which I like best.

Re: new chocolate lab silver phase
I used to not care for them much. Then I ended up with a chocolate lab pup that was a b-day gift for my son. That was almost 2 years ago and I've been a believer ever since. Smart as a tack and a hoot to have around. Looking forward to those pics.

Surely there's others!
Surely there's other blade junkies on here. I already posted a pic of a tomahawk I forged in another thread. There has to be others out there that have made some knives. Post up a pic and let me see your work. Here a pic of a small knife and sheath I made for my cousin to start it off.
