Re: Options

I like to throw some Australian winter peas in my fall mixes too - my deer seem to enjoy it.

If you want an early bow season draw, its hard to beat some August planted soybeans, deer will pass right over the other stuff to go much on some young soybeans.

Re: Trophy hunters ?

I usually pass on the younger bucks, but I have shot a few since I am usually only home for a couple of weeks each season. I have gotten to where I spend more time getting my wife on deer than worrying much about what I shoot. I just love being in the woods and the thrill of the hunt. So trophy hunt...

My corn patch

Got some updated pics of my corn patch - just under a month after it was planted. Top dressed with some nitrogen and hit with some gly to kill off the grass. Should have a pretty good stand of it come Dec when I'll be there to hunt :D

I'm guessing since it was in October it was a bow hunt?

Re: I'll get the ball rolling

I joined the Army in 98, spent three years in the infantry and beginning in 2001 reenlisted for something "new" - UAVs (more commonly referred to as drones by the media). I flew for three years as a soldier, and now I work for one of the largest defense contractors. I am currently deployed...

X2 stay safe buddy. How many guys were killed when the big chopper went down. There were 16 casualties when the chopper went down, eight SEALS and eight members of the US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR - basically the best of the best helo pilots and crew). 160th SOAR is actually b...

DIY whitetail or mulie hunt

I've been wanting to plan a DIY hunt for either whitetail or mulies for a while now, I figure I will be able to in about two years. What areas should I be looking into? I guess the main things I would look for is ease of getting a tag, animal population (not really looking for a trophy hunt, just a ...

Out of state section

What do you think of a section in the Deer Hunting portion for "Out of State"? I really like how you have it broken down by regions for the state, but I know a lot of guys do hunts in KY, IL, KS, and a couple other states. May help with anyone who is planning an out of state hunt. Anyone s...
