Look what I found

While trying to detect the ML bullet I fired and killed my buck with this last season, I uncovered this little gem. A guy here at work who is really knowledgeable of old guns said it's likely from 1915-1925.

I keep thinking that this thing was likely in the ground on our property even before my grandmother was born. I also found an old horse shoe with the nails still in it. Old stuff no doubt, and I'm way away from the old house place even, so who knows what I might find next!

Another possibility is that this shotgun shell may have been fired from the old 1915 DB shotgun that I have inherited that belonged to my GG Grandfather. This kinda thing can just make you wonder for sure. :)

Love finding old stuff! Most people think it's junk but I enjoy finding it. Finding thing on your own property just adds another element to it.

Old homeplaces are my favorite to detect, every piece has a story. Have some ww1 metals I found at one, found out later the owner of them died in a house fire there.

Wow! That IS awesome! This is my Grandparent's place, and it used to be a stage coach Inn as well. I'd say there are some cool finds just waiting to be found.

Cool! I've never seen a "Referee" shell before. And look at that primer strike! Definitely no issue with the firing pin or hammer spring whichever the case may be.

I would just like to roll back to that day and see what happened, and who was out there hunting, and if the old shotgun that I now have was the one that fired it. :)
