Broadheads

Post by WG Taxidermist »

With deer season coming up in a few months just curious as to which broadheads you guys shoot? Id like to swap to a mechanical broadhead i just worry about them not opening properly on impact.

I love my rage. Have had plenty of awesome blood trails and never a failure to open.

Meant to say I use the 2 blade. You should get em you won't regret it. Huge holes they make. Entrance and exit!!

Just whatever I can pick up on the cheap. :D I'd try affixing razor blades to a field point if I thought it would hold together. Actually I'm still using the old Wasp 3 blades that I've had for years.

I still haven't decided--I've shot 7 different heads so far and everyone one of them are flying as great as my FP's. Right now in my quiver, I've got 1 Kill zone, 2 Slick Tricks, 2 G5 Strikers and 1 Muzzy MX-4--I may just roll with that....lol.

I shoot Rage and/or Shwackers.... Kinda like the Shwackers a little better..... Blood trails have been good with both.....

I bought a set about 5-6 years ago at Wally World after they had marked them down...figured I'd give em a try... My first shot with one I killed a nice 8 point in Illinois and the joker didn't go 40 yards and piled up... Been using them ever since with good results... I still carry one Rage in the quiver...and don't know why....but I do...

I am using muzzy, however I found a new pack of Gators from Bass Pro.
I think I will give them a try. I have some Wac'Em broad heads also. I
haven't tried them yet. They were given to me by Jimmy Ryan, I think
they were what he used when he killed his elephant.
I was laying on my back wondering, " why is that ball getting bigger"? and then it hit me.
