Re: Grandpa Homeschooling
Speaking of Grandpa's and guns, my Grandpa was the first to show me how to shoot a rifle. A Model 67 Winchester .22 SS B/A. Little did I know the history of that gun until I got older. It was used to kill my Great Uncle in a robbery at his home. It was his own rifle, and the thugs that broke in on him used it to kill him, shot him in the back as he was walking out to go get the sheriff. I remember seeing the pics of him lying on the ground, slacks and white dress shirt with suspenders, big bloody spot in the center of his back. My Grandmother gave me that rifle before she passed away, and is probably the most storied rifle I own. Priceless to me. Anyway, my Grandpa got it out one day when I was staying with him as my Mom was gone shopping with my Grandmother, and he let me shoot a tin can in the "burn pile", and as I recall, I hit it. Just one shot, one time, and he put it up. Man those were good times.
