Bullet ID

Post by shootnmiss »

See if any of you goobs know this. I recently bought some land with a house (kinda) and some buildings on it. I found a few thousand rounds of ammo in dry storage. A hundred of them are these. They're 357, in a plain white box with a sticker that that has the manufacturing date write by hand. Looks like a wicked holler point wad cutter, but I ain't never saw anything like them.

Ok. I've never seen a hollow point wad cutter. All I've seen was flat. Learned something new. It's the deepest holler point I ever saw

Some folks load them backwards for a deep hollow point. I don't know if they do any better but they aren't bad. In a short barrel revolver I carry plain wadcutters because you won't get reliable expansion with most loads.

I'll add that saw a jigaboo get shot right above his bellybutton with a 38 wad cutter. That was the nastiest wound I ever seen. It busted him wide open all the way across his gut. Somehow he lived. Looked like a one inch wide welding bead across his stomach
