Reclaimed wood furniture........

Post by RackRocker »

We have been looking at furniture stores and seeing the price of this stuff blows my mind. I found a place in "Mur-vlle" that has all kinds of reclaimed boards for $1 per board ft. Seems like a deal to me. So I'm gonna try my hand at building our kitchen table and bed. Anybody have any tips and tricks on working with it? I have a carpentry background but never done anything like this.

If you can get it for $1.00 per board foot jump on it. I sell it for $5.00. All nails are pulled metal detected and pulled the missed ones treated for bugs and put in the drying kiln. I am sure that for that price all that hasn't been done but still a good deal.

Here are a few pics of the big shop and one finished piece. My neighbor helped with this one and made one of the slots a little too big. Still came out ok. Oak and black walnut with no mechanical fasteners all glue, pegs and slotted boards with drive in wedges. Oh that is a wine cabinet being built in the background.

Where in Murvul is this place? If you're going to run it through a Planer, be dang sure its been de-nailed.
