Well it's looking like there won't be but a few of us. Buckdropper has offered up his lot on Cold Creek to camp at free of charge so looks like that's going to be the gathering place. Will post up more details soon.

I'm hunting right down the road by the prison. I was planning on staying in the park anyway, by free is always nice. Where exactly is this lot? Is there an address? Is it ok to show up fri afternoon? What's the deal in general?

Sorry for no replies but we had no service when we got down there.

Had a great time. Buckdropper has a really cool set up down there. The hunting on Tully was tough to say the least. Saturday evening we hunted lower Hatchie at one of Buckdroppers spots. I had a good 8 in the scope right at dark and was half a second from pulling the trigger but was unsure about the position of the buck, so fell back on the when in doubt rule and thought better of it and let him walk.


A big thank you to Buckdropper for letting us use his camper. Really great guy. Looking forward to doing some more hunting with him.

We had a great time sitting around the fire, cooking hot dogs, shooting the bull. We even saw a really good meteor shower Saturday night. I bet we saw over 20!!

Really great to see you agin Poser, and you as well Materchief.

Hope we can do it agin next year and be a little more organized and have a larger turn out.

In the Dog House failed to mention the multiple high powered rifle shots we heard well after dark, Cold Creek locals shooting off handguns, and the police showing up

I got to hunt on a awesome (and rather exclusive) property in the Tully area with some big deer running around. I managed to catch a glimpse of a big boy moving through a thicket. I had a very cool experience when a tank of a 4 point bedded down 38 yards in front of me for a couple of hours. He was flat out asleep for a little while. I watched him hold tight as a coyote stalked by him a mere 20 yards upwind. I was on the ground and eye level. Finally, he noticed me (or at least started at me for 10 minutes), stood up, hiked his leg, took a piss (while starring at me) and moseyed along.

On Sunday, the property owner saw a drop time 12 point, but a damper was put on the morning when we heard a gunshot close by. Turned out to be a trespasser he had caught 2 times before. The poacher had killed a small 6 point. TWRA was called, gun confiscated, prosecution sought, land owner took home the meat.
