I'm seeing some cool nights in the future
At least out to 7-10 days. Looks like there will be a nice cool opener for turkey season. Any refined data yet BSK for the temps for the next cool spell?
Re: I'm seeing some cool nights in the future
Definitely below normal low temps off and on for the next two weeks. But at least I don't think we're going to see the hard freezes I was worried about earlier.

I prefer the cooler temps. I'm dreading the summer heat!

Now that I've become a runner, I HATE summer! My body can't take humidity.
I would still keep an eye on the cold snap forecast for next weekend (Apr 9-10). It could produce near freezing temps.
Unfortunately, mid to late April is forecast to be above to much above normal temps.

Re: I'm seeing some cool nights in the future
A lot of the native wildflowers actually do better if they go through a cold period, helps with germination. But I drill a lot of the stuff I do, we usually start in Feb and don't stop til the end of May. I have some big fields that will be broadcasted soon and they will be fine. If you would've planted several weeks ago and had sprouts by now, then they wouldn't do well by getting hit by the cold, especially the annuals in the mix. The perennials are a lot tougher. Just make sure when you broadcast that you have almost 100% dirt exposed, and go back over it with a cultipacker or something that will kind of mash it down a little bit.leader wrote:Wasn't sure with 27 degrees and snow showers forecast for Sat morning...
