There is no way he should have protection after he failed to protect those kids. He should just have to try to hide or hope for the best like the students did while he stood outside doing nothing. He took an oath to protect and serve and it was his job to protect the kids at that school. He did nothing to stop the shooter.

It just kinda galds me to know this guy did nothing to stop the shooter or protect the students and now he and his family get protection!!

I don`t mind his family getting protection but not him.

He should be charged with some kind of criminal negligence.

How would you like to be a law enforcement officer and told that your assignment was to protect him?

From a Dad's POV, his life is in jeopardy IMO. He failed his job and is derelict of his duty. He should be afforded NO further taxpayer dollars for protection, and should actually face appropriate charges as well.

My other issue is 4 to 6 police officers are protecting him and his family. Those students were under protected even after a know threat. The under protection became no protection.
