More on CWD

Post by caretaker »

#FightCWDFriday
What does a deer with chronic wasting disease (CWD) look like? Most look as healthy as the buck in the photo. You cannot look at a #deer, whether alive in the woods or on the ground after harvest, and tell if it has CWD. Check out this article from The Quality Deer Management Association.

Thanks CT. That was very informative. I guess I am one of the statistics who thought you'd be able to tell it by looking.

I'm still not too concerned over eating deer that may or may not have CWD. There is still no case where it has infected people. What I am concerned with is the disease killing off the older aged animals apparently. I'll kill whatever makes me happy but I do like seeing older bucks and having a chance at them.
