Model 70 .300 WSM Super Shadow

Post by Tennessee Lead »

I’ve had this rifle for at least 15 years and it’s always shot good enough for me. I have been shooting hand loads for a few years now but I wanted to get away from lead and hadn’t found any Barnes ammo. I did find the Winchester Deer Season XP Copper Impact ammunition last fall and decided to give it a try. I had put a new Leupold on top of it 2 years ago and had a member help me with glass bedding the stock instead of replacing it. I also bought the MCARBO spring kit for the trigger over buying a replacement trigger.
Tried the budget route and I’ll be darn if it just happened to work out. This is a 3 shot group at 100 yards.

SWEET!!! I love it when a budget comes together! That's what I love to do as well! Remember my Model 70 300 WSM I got on the cheap? Shoots sub MOA out to 500 yds with hunting loads! Love it!

I do remember that. I do enjoy the caliber. Packs a lot of punch

And mine doesn't seem to have near the recoil of my WinMags, it's a pleasure to shoot!

Nice! Looks like an accurate load. If I was in the market for a 300 mag of some sort, the WSM would be at the top of my list.

My win mag don’t have much recoil when someone else pulls the trigger

I have a pristine 71 model that hurts no matter who pulls the trigger! 😖

I can see that. It'd be hard to shoot it.
