Spent 6 months in South America a couple of years ago got hooked on Flor de Cana splash of Coke; A Rum made in Nicaragua.

If I cant get that Single Barrel Jack will do in a pinch. :D

Angel's Envy first, and if you have not tried it, it's worth you doing so. Don't dare mix it with coke or anything, just pour it over some ice and enjoy. By far the smoothest I have ever tasted.

Crown Royal Special Reserve second,

Single Barrel Jack third,

Wild Turkey Rare Breed fourth.

I can answer that and I think Poser will concour. They are both good but the Woodford will win that battle hands down.

Poser - without breaking the bank, what's a good one to try based on your sampling history?
Those are both great. If you can find it, try to get your hands on a bottle of Elmer T Lee, my favorite. Eagle rare is a good mid range priced bottle that is good but still has taste. A lot of the really smooth bourbons, say Blantons, are very smooth but you almost don't taste anything unless you sip it neat. (I like ice)

No comparison on Woodford and Elijah.
Woodford by FAR.

Pretty interesting list. I have never tried several on the upper end of the price range. To me, I can't taste enough difference in a $50 bottle to a $200 bottle to justify the price difference. I'm not saying there is none just not enough for me to fork out the extra cash.

Bourbon: I'm not picky. I'll try anything.

Scotch: I have taken a liking to Laphroaig. I had a glass at a local Irish Pub (Celtic Crossing in Memphis), and it knocked my socks off. I go to bars looking for it, and many of them do not carry it. But if I do find it, I get a glass of it. it is a bit stronger than your standard Scotch/bourbon. But I think that 's what stood out for me.

TN Whiskey: George Dickel. I find it smoother than Jack Daniels. But i like both!

I just now found this thread! Im a bourbon man. I much prefer sipping good bourbon to anything else, especially beer! LOL
Ive got a decent collection of mostly mid level stuff that Ive been working on for several months now.
Col. E.H. Taylor is VERY good!
Eagle rare is VERY good!
Basil Haydens is VERY good!
Bulleit orange label is my favorite go to
Bulleit black label is a tad hotter than orange, but still good.
Henry McKenna single barrel, bottled in bond is very good.
Evan Williams white label bottled in bond is the cheapest decent bourbon I have.
Woodford Reserve I don't care for. Its got an almond tasting finish and I HATE almonds.

Been sipping on Buffalo Trace lately. My cousins swear by Woodford Reserve, but I've never tried it yet. That'll be my next bottle I think.

I like to sip on a beer every now and then but I've never really found a whiskey or bourbon that I liked. Maybe I just ain't tried the right stuff.

Never could abide the devil water :D I'm like WG, I could always sip a cold beer tho, especially when it was hot. I don't even do that anymore tho.

Good for you! I limit a few drinks to fri and sat, that’s it. Straight whisky over ice, no blended sweet crap.
