Swallowed some pride

Post by caretaker »

Yep, I swallered some pride. I always stated that when I couldn't walk in and walk out an drag a deer out I would stop hunting. I was not going to get an ATV. Weyal age, health, and desire to keep hunting made a list outta me. Got me a 2004 Polaris Magnum 330. It is a 4x2' auto and does not have 4 wheel drive but it serves my needs.
I`m just here for the girl`s wet teeshirt and mud wrestling contest.

An Atv is handy for hunting but for alot of other stuff too. Now if you get a side-by-side then you may have to swallow some pride....

When you buying a side-by-side for hunting? stir

I don't see how anybody that doesn't live in a condo or apartment complex can get by WITHOUT a 4 wheeler! If mine disappeared today I would be buying another one tomorrow!

I was raised on 2 wheels so ATV's are not something I enjoy using. However, they are real handy for hunting so I have one of them. To me it is a necessary evil. I have a 1994 300 4x4 Polaris 2 stroke. It gets the job done and the smell of two stroke smoke fools my mind into thinking I'm on one of my bikes.

Mine aint either. Its a 1996 Honda 300 TRX 4X4 that I bought new. I wish I had bought 3 of them! Every time I have it in my truck somebody tries to buy it!

I went a different route. Aside from a couple WMAs, I only hunt 2 properties. Here at the farm, and some family land that adjoins TVA on the lake.
On the farm, I can use my truck or a tractor to retrieve a deer. At the lake...well, its down hill to the water from anywhere...so we bought a boat. As a plus, we use it the rest of the year for fishing and exploring islands.
