Rem Sendero 300WM

Post by MUP »

Just picked one up from Scott. MAN this thing is heavy, but it's gonna be a shooter I think. Took it out a couple weeks ago and was getting 1" +/- groups at 100 yds using factory Rem Premiere Accutip ammo.

Not familiar with that Sendero rifle. But 300 WM are usually sweet shooters. Have fun with it.

I am wanting that sendaro in .308. 300wm is a little to much where I hunt. Mostly timber with a couple fields that may reach 200 yards.

If I'm not mistaking, the sendaro rifle was originally made for a sniper situation. Because of the weight it would remain on target easier for quick follow up shots. You gonna love it once you get used to it.

Yep, I wouldn't want to have to lug that heavy thing across the mountains on a spot and stalk out West, or even much around here in these mtns, but I got it for that purpose, out West, for being able to take a long shot at a big animal. ;)

Reviving an old thread, I know, but hey I just got here. I have had many Senderos, and still have a few, all were shooters. I was a die-hard Remington fan all of my life until about 2006 and their QC went downhill. If you still have this rifle MUP try some RL19 in it if you haven't yet. Best powder I have found for my 300's.....especially with 168gr Bergers.

I'm running 180 gr pills for hunting and 220s for target right now buddy. Great load using RL 22 with the 180s, .44 MOA 3 shot group at 1000 with that one. Using H1000 with the 220s and have got some decent groups at 100 but haven't shot at distance with those yet. I do have R19 tho and some 178 gr Hornady ATips so I may just try that combo with them.

Less than .5MOA at 1,000 yards....yea, don't screw with that and keep that recipe. Awesome shooting there.

Not enough terminal velocity to be effective on an animal at that distance, but I figured at about 600-700 yds it would do well.

Ah yes, I should have specified not enough terminal velocity to kill 4 legged animals, large 4 legged animals. ;)

Cool!

The 300WM is hard to beat, and the Sendero is a nice rifle for sure.

If I was to take a 600 yard shot I'd be shootin not only across property lines but county lines and unit lines

Ct you need to bring that .243 over and stretch it out at the Dead Zero range! Electronic targets are great , you just shoot, then look at the e tablet on your bench to see where yer a hittin'! :D

Sendero's are typically some fine weapons. A good friend of mine had one in 7mmSTW that was a real shooter with his handloads.

I’m not a big 700 fan but I’d like to have a sendero 7stw. Guy I used to work with has a standard 700 in stw

I had a Sendero SF in 7STW but ended up selling in when I bought a Sako 75 in the same caliber.
