Re: Alabama
I hunt down near Thomasville....Usually after the season closes here, but sometimes go down in Dec. if sightings get too poor here..
Re: Alabama
Ruts usually in full swing on Martin LutherKing day in south Bama....I was told that when deer were imported by the DNR in Bama back in the 60’s they brought deer from Michigan to stock the northern part of the state and TX deer for the lower half....
Never hunted mid state but I’ve hear rut can last from Nov into Feb there....

Re: Alabama
Most those deer that were brought in are in the Eastern half of the state....The rut in parts of Russell County in and around Eufaula falls in October....damn near full swing when bow season opens.... There are pockets where it is like that but its mainly on our eastern half....gatodoc wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 1:30 pm Ruts usually in full swing on Martin LutherKing day in south Bama....I was told that when deer were imported by the DNR in Bama back in the 60’s they brought deer from Michigan to stock the northern part of the state and TX deer for the lower half....
