Re: Favorite rifle
I left the ol Rem 7400 30-06 simi in the closet last season and used the new 243 L H Savage. I will use the 243 again this season and give it time. Me and the 243 sat in the woods in Dickson county during that dusting of snow we had in late January. She got iced over a bit but cleaned up good.
I`m just here for the girl`s wet teeshirt and mud wrestling contest.

Re: Favorite rifle
I've had a Remington, of some sort, in 30-06 ever since the beginning of time for me it seems, but when I got hold of the Win Model 70 300 WSM that I now have, it's become, at least, as preferred as my 06 rifles. So much that I will alternate between them each season. I killed with my Rem Model 710 30-06 last season, and the Model 70 300WSM the season before that, and the 06 before that etc, so this season is the Win Model 70's turn again.

My favorite gun is my Whetherby 25-06. I've shot many a deer with it and never lost one.

Re: Favorite rifle
My 6.5 PRC is my favorite rifle, slightly heavy but it performs very well.
But for this deer season I'll be hunting with my 6.5 grendel SBR.

Re: Favorite rifle
Ok, I confess, I do have a favorite. If I had to reach in the safe and grab just one centerfire rifle to use for the rest of my days it would be.................... my Remington model 700 LSS in 300 win mag. I got this rifle way before the LSS was in standard production, it was one of 3 that I knew of. For those who don't know, the LSS stands for laminated stainless steel I think. Its got the black and gray laminated stock. It was produced as a market test or something I guess in 1994. I was planning my first elk hunt and in early spring I bought a Mark V Weatherby in 300wby. I fooled with that gun for MONTHS, even sent it back to Weatherby to no avail. It WOULD not put 3 shots in 1.5 in regardless of what combo I tried. By the end of summer I was getting desperate and a buddy found the Remington for me at another gunshop. I traded the Mark V for it, even up I think. One of the best trades Ive ever made!
