Favorite rifle

My favorite rifle is my Remington sportsman 78 30-06 with a Redfield 3x9x40 scope sighted at 150 yards tack driver .But if I need some other to fill my needs my brothers has a 270 and 243 that I bought for them lol

I guess my favorite would be the one I am carrying that day buy if I had to choose one it probably my Ruger stainless markII IN 280. I put a new scope on it this year and I can't wait to get it zeroed and ready to go.

I heard them are some nice rifles Sig I wished I had a few more rifles and pistols but dad told me we need a bigger gun safe LOL

IMHO,The Remington Model 700 is one of the best and most dependable Rifles there is. for Elk a 300 Win Mag, Deer 30-06.

yes i know i never went elk hunting yet but that's on my Todo in future list thou LOL.

i get a chance at a 700 i would be willing to get it LOL if dad helps out a little

My favorite rifle is my Rem Model 673 In 350 Rem. Magnum. I don't know but the laminated stocks design fits me well and the gun comes to my shoulder with ease....Plus it flat out hammers deer! Very little tracking.

Ruger M77 .270... Got it when I was 12, I'm 35 now. Still hunting with it. Been thru a few scopes but she is still putting em on the ground! It is beat up a little but that just gives it character

Been reading this thread and each reply as it appears, but got to thinking. I have some fav guns, that hardly, see action too. Probably the fav one would be my late Dad's ol Mod 742 Rem Woodsmaster in 30-06. I've taken it out a couple of times since his passing, once in 09, and the following year in 10, killing a nice buck on Thanksgiving Day with it, very special day. Another is an old Mod 67 Win .22 that was given me by my Grandmother. This gun was used against my great uncle in a robbery at his home. 3 lowlifes broke in on him, and he just said he was walking to get the sheriff. One of them shot him in the back as he was walking out of his yard, killing him right there. And, yet another, an imr db shotgun, also handed down thru the years. Apparently this ol gun had killed three turkeys at once by one of my ancestors, inadvertently I was told. Man, a lot of history can stick to these guns I'm telling you. Anybody else got some favs that see little or no use?

Yeah one of my favorite rifles is my Marlin 35 Rem. I love that gun but seems to take a backseat to my Rem 673 Guide gun in 350 Rem mag.Maybe i should pull the ole'35 to the front of the safe for this season. If i can put down my 7mag!lol. Too many favorites!!!

Oh no! It's not a huge round. It's basically 30-30 case blown out to .375, or a 38-55 on steroids. It's one of the best woods rounds I've ever used and I love those straight walled big bore rounds.

MUP I have Browning A5 12 that was given to me by my Grandfather when I was born. I started hunting with it when I was 14. Money couldn't buy that gun. I now have 3 grandsons and I have 3 A5 20's in the safe for them. Some traditions just have to be passed on.

I have one that my Dad had when I was growing up as well WB. Just before he passed away, he sold that gun to a friend of his. At the funeral, I asked the guy about it, and if he would consider selling it back to me. He did, for $100 more than he gave my Dad for it, but it was still worth it. I've taken it out a couple of times for that one turkey that may or may not live on my place... but no luck, as of yet.

I'd say my favorite rifle is my 300 WSM Browning Bolt. My father gave it to me for Christmas years ago and I love hunting with it.

Old faithful: Early 70's Model 700 Remmy 7Mag 4 x 12 Bushy Elite, Floated barrel, blue printed action, 2 1/2 lbs factory trigger. 5 shots .721 @ 300 yards
Taken a truck load of whitetails a couple of Alaskan Moose, One 879 lbs. griz, One 501 lbs. blackie, a dozen desert goats and numerous varmits of all sorts. It's been a goodin.

I'll see if I can find Dads photos in Alaska and British Columbia and scan a few. He killed all the big stuff, back in 1976 with the rifle. When dad passed away in 2005 some family members took or should I say stole a bunch of his stuff that was supposed to be mine including the bear rug.

Well that's a rant for another post.

My favorite is the first hunting rifle I bought. A Rem 700 VTR 308. It's not the most accurate but so far it's killed every deer I've shot at. Part of the success probably comes from the fact the places I hunt I can't see that far to shoot anyway.....
