Trolling motor problems

Post by Shane37110 »

Anyone here fix trolling motors or know a good place that does close to McMinnville? I've got a Minn Kota Endura C2 45lb that runs for a few minutes and then dies. Let it set a while and it might run a few more minutes and shut down. It loses power and gets slow before it dies.
Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know much about trolling motors. Sounds like it may have a gap in the wiring that gets wider as it gets hot.

Now here is where I ask a really dumb question. Are you sure it is not the battery going dead under load then recovering .

I suspect brushes, see if you can pull up a parts list for it

Brush kit is about $30. I've found an electric motor service nearby. I'm calling them in the morning to see if this is something they could check out. Otherwise I'll tackle it myself

I agree on the brushes

I would say brushes as well.
