My favorite it 30o6. It has enough power to kill anything around here. Ammo is easy to find and recoil isn't to bad. You also have such a wide range of distance, from 20 yards out to 250 yards (for me).

Im also getting more fond of my .243 and long range shooting. I have one place I hunt where there are some 400+ yard shots and I would like to get comfortable shooting that distance if the shot is offered. Of course shot placement is very important with this round, but this thing is a tack driver!!

Mine would be my 30-06 for my favorite but if I have a place where i can shoot long distance then I would take the 243 that I bought for my brother .

I sure am fond of rem 280. I have a Ruger 77 stainless mark II. and it has become my go to gun. I am thinking that I will also carry my Browning ABolt stainless 270 this year. And a CVA apex in 35 Whelen.

I have killed more deer with a 270 WIN than any other caliber, so I guess that would be it.

This year I'm going to handload the 257 WBY and 7x57mm, so we'll see how that turns out. One of those might become my favorite, but I sure do love the 270 WIN for deer hunting.

I'll give yall 3 guesses, and the first two don't count! :D I'm a die hard 30-06 shooter from my single digit years! Had 3 Mod 742's at one time even. I do however prefer the 150 gr sp bullets now from my Rem Mod 710 over the 180's that the 742 I still have seems to do well with.

25-06 will get it done for sure Sig. Killed my largest deer to date With my Remington which sounds just like the 06 you acquired mine was made in 1989.

My go-to caliber thus far has been .270WIN, but I just bought a 7mm08 that I can't wait to shoot. I have a feeling that it may be my new rifle of choice this fall.

I'm partial to a .308 WIN, as is not a magnum and good for anything I hunt around here. Plus I've consolidated and have several hunting rifles in .308, will start reloading it soon.

My favorite rifle is my winchester m70 featherweight in 270 win it puts them down but i hunt with several cals 30.06, 308, and my recent purchase 30-30. My 308 has been getting the most hunts only because i dont want to mess up my 270 it was handed down from my father when he passed

My Dad's 742 shoots the 180 gr core-lokts pretty good Jimmy. It's what I used to take that Thanksgiving Day buck in 2010. ;)

I have killed far more deer with my .270 than any other caliber, but I also like my .50 cal ml because I have been killing more deer over the past few years with it, and more bucks (which has more to do with seasonal movement than anything), and it really lays down a blood trail. I also really like my Model 760 .30-06, but I use a more manly 165gr bullet in it than Steve's wimpy 150gr :D  :D
