On Edge while setting Trailcams
The walk in was fine until we got back to where we had planned to set our cams...a great rain had
came friday and saturday.....the water was up and as we made way to the area the water puddled
more and more....im walking akong the bush hog levee that hasnt been touched since last year....its
wet and the grass is 2-3 ft tall....all of a sudden my mind began screaming this looks like snake
haven....not 20 steps after the thought i walk within 3 ft of a big black snake....i take off back
pedaling running my brother over....we collect ourselves and creep forward on the levee....were 1.25
miles from the teuck with 200 yards to go.....we wait and bolt past the area the sbake was.... seen....i
told my brother if i seen another that im going back to the truck....150 yds later i catch another
snake slithering off within striking distance!!!Dammit my heart cant take this but im 50-75 yds
away....we make it and set trailcam 1 walk back out.then catch another snake swimming off luckily
it was 10 yds away swimming toward trailcam #2 spot....we maje it to the spot and avoided snake
#3 so we head back to the truck walking in the tall grass levee with hands on our heads abd nerves
shot and eyes scanning every blade of grass that moved....we get.to ttail cam spot #3 with no
incident but i was nervous every step....then after 1 mile back to the truck i qasnt paying attention
and jumped 30 inches high trying to save mysekf from snake #4 except it was only a shed skin....i
made my brother drive my truck home i was shot my heart heart hurt it was a very unpleasant
afternoon to say the least

I would have been an outlaw after snake #1 most likely, less'n it was just a black snake or some non pizenous type snake.

If I had a gun I'd have shot them all. I hate a snake.

As long as I can see em they don't bother me. It's the ones that sneak up on me that scare the crap out of me
Re: On Edge while setting Trailcams
After the second one I think I would have been high tailing it out of there. especially if you were in tall grass where you can't see them well.

They all bother me, but especially the ones that sneak up.DeerSlayer wrote:As long as I can see em they don't bother me. It's the ones that sneak up on me that scare the crap out of me

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.
