Off season honey do list.

Post by JCodd »

Usually after deer season we all get into a lull. Wore out after a long season. For myself it’s home improvement time. Especially doing things inside the house. Started MLK weekend. Wife was wanting shelves in the laundry room and I wanted the mess cleaned up. Started with drylok. Built 12 foot shelves to put our totes and other things on. Next was the mancave. Got one wall done and started on another. I’ve got a crap ton of stuff to move so this will allow me to shove it in a corner. Added several more plugs while I was at it. Added lights to the laundry room. Had a leak in the water lines a few weeks back. Second leak in 3 years. So I got those all replaced. Moved the water heater out of the laundry room and into the garage. We had a toilet in the laundry room but no sink so I picked up a utility sink. Had an old trashy ceiling fan in the mancave. Replaced it with 3 can lights and put dimmers in. Replaced the kitchen light as it was just plain dull. Been a busy off season so far. Next project is tearing out the reloading table and dryloking that mess. And fixing the cracks in the walls.

You been a busy lil boy. Looks good. I guess I will refinish the bathroom. My sisters boyfriend tore out the tile and walls to replace some that was damaged. Wal, the project stalled out. I guess I will be the one doing the repairs. Gonna be a hell of a lot more work/replacement than I would have done as they tore out more than I would have. I have been looking at 2×4 studs and plastic taped to the walls sense back in Sept. I was told to sit down shut up and stay out of it back then so I did. Now, I am havin my say and gonna do it my way.

Good heavens above, I need a nap after reading this.
I know the feeling. I've got a ton of stuff to do mostly outside.
1- repair the siding on the chimney.
2- convert the spare room back into a garage and install the garage door.
3- replace the fence on the back of lot.
4- tear down an old she'd and remove a lot of old lumber.
5- paint all the exterior trim on the house.
6- put new brick mold and trim around front and back doors.
7- replace back door
8- repair drywall and paint interior.

Trying to get the house ready to sell.

this is kinda my feelings at the moment. I was wanting an empty lot beside my house and after talking with the owner he’s about double what I’m willing to give. So I’ll get my oldest thru school and sell out. I’ve got about 6-8 years to keep updating so I can do some each year.

.our plan/goal is to buy 5-8 acres and build us a smaller cabin on it. If it goes as planned God willing, it'll all be paid for by the time I retire in 6 years.

I’m hoping to find 50-100 acres with a house or build one on it. I’ll probably have to leave my county to find it affordable tho lol

I'm just pure lazy I reckon LOL Rain or shine I seem to put those projects on hold for other "more pressing" duties, like hunting for anything I can that's legal, or now I will rearrange the junk in the garage every now and then so I can navigate through it better. :)
[Image We score trophies, but every hunt is, to some extent, a way of measuring ourselves.

I didn’t really wanna do it but I figure let’s do it right before we finish the basement. Didn’t realize I had such an issue at my reloading table
