Ruts usually in full swing on Martin LutherKing day in south Bama....I was told that when deer were imported by the DNR in Bama back in the 60’s they brought deer from Michigan to stock the northern part of the state and TX deer for the lower half.... My favorite is the first hunting rifle I bought. A Rem 700 VTR 308. It's not the most accurate but so far it's killed every deer I've shot at. Part of the success probably comes from the fact the places I hunt I can't see that far to shoot anyway.....

I've killed a couple of nice rattlers this summer. Both approached me while I was bedding traps. I sure hope it cools off soon! I accidentally ran over one leaving camp back in Sept.....Got moccasins and gators in the pond on the back of our lease but I don't go back there in warm weather.... TN bo...

Thanks to some input from some more experienced hunters, I think I know what happened. Apparently, my buck grunt called in another buck ready to fight for territory. The sound I heard might have been a snort/wheez. After the buck couldn't locate his challenger, he took a piss to make his territory. ...

I hunted in Fayette Co. last weekend Dec 4 and 5.....Saw one 4 pt chasing.....saw young bucks hanging together, saw a few single does, but more groups of does 3-4 in the group... Numbers of youngsters seems down on our Rhea co. lease this year. We were covered up in yotes last year. Did this make a difference or has there been any other "natural" causes for poor fawn crop?
