Came home yesterday to find a button buck laying dead in my front horse pasture, he was starting to blow up just a little, but was not stiff, temps had been 25 to 45 all day. So I did field dress and hang in barn until this evening, he did have a little bit of an extra smell and pressure release when I stuck him. I hate to let it not go into my freezer but I am a bit concerned because I'm not sure when it was killed. Man did he tear up around a 100 feet of my fencing that I have to repair. What you think?? Boy do I hate it when a young buck like that is found dead.

If he had pressure when you stuck him I don't know that I'd eat him. Especially if it's got a little different smell.
