Lone Survivor
Lone Survivor
Man that movie is intense. Man It take a special breed to be a navy seal. As busted up as they were they still thought they could go back and get their buddy.

We made it through about the first 5 minutes and had to turn it off. The future wife's family was really good friends with a man who died in that operation and her brother is currently deployed SF somewhere in the Middle East.
1991 my mother gave birth to a legend unfortunately we got mixed up at the hospital and she got stuck with me.

Great movie! If you notice in that movie and also in Zero Dark Thirty they both run their operations out of FOB (forward operating base) Jalalabad - that is where I have been working the past 4 years
There has been a lot of things that have happened out here that I feel fortunate to have been a part of, it kinda makes it all worthwhile when I think of all the stories that I will have in years to come.

There were 16 casualties when the chopper went down, eight SEALS and eight members of the US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR - basically the best of the best helo pilots and crew). 160th SOAR is actually based out of Ft. Book is awesome. Movie is good but I need to watch it again to see what I really think of it.
I can tell you when they look over that first rock ledge and determine that's their only chance, WOW.
That was intense seeing them tumble down those mountains and the impacts.
