I had the same problem with the shockwave,too much penetration and not enuf expansion ,shot a doe thru the lungs 2 times same size out as in ran 150y,I dont use them any more for that reason,I been running them 2300-2400fps or so

sited my smokeless in and had 2 boxes of the 250g sst with the red sabot,Zeroed rifle at 40y or so and its deadly out to 267y not sure how fast they are shooting but going to crony them when I am thru hunting with it this year.will probably carry it to the end

Hornady 250 SST were a complete pass through on the buck I shot a week ago.
Shot out of a CVA optima with 80 grains by weight of Blackhorn 209. Haven't chronoed it yet though.
