A week in Jackson county. After 8 hunts, I killed a button on 11/8 around 8:30am thru a tiny window in thick woods over 200 yards down the side of the ridge. It was a desperation kill. I caught a glimse of a deer in a tiny hole. I picked a hole to the right and saw a deer pass thru in my scope which gave me exact hold for the next one. The second deer stepped into the hole and the Savage McGowen 40 cal SML sent a 225gr Pittman Accumax down range at 2900fps which met its' mark perfectly. No pic, something happened to my phone so no pics after my selfie before killing the button. I did a factory reset when I got home today. Not asking for kill points. DA has that covered. So, a week at the lease wasn't a total loss. Bad weather, full moon, and LOGGERS were the demise of our trip. The wife always makes some awesome home cooked meals. We had venison cubed steak with the fixins, fried catfish, deer chili, beer brats. I have to thank the lord for giving me the opportunity to share a week with my wife and friends, doing what we love to do.

I'm not much for posting kill pics. WGK and I went to the shooting gallery after I worked all night. This 4 point wanna be 6 point stepped out in the field at Approx 200 yards and the Savage/Rock Creek 40 cal SML took him down with an All Copper 300gr Pittman Hammer high bc bullet over 98gr of IMR4350 at around 2900 fps. That thing is a laser beam and that bullet could penetrate from bunghole to nose and never even stop. Thanks Bill for the hair test. Scat to 26
