Cool pic. Are those backyard deer?
Actually this is front/side yard.
This is where Wild Bill and I hunt in Loudon County. I missed 4 there last year with my crossbow.

Not sure I would admit that I missed 4 times, but since you did, how the heck did that happen?
Was is faulty equipment or "operator error", as I prefer to call it?

Well in my defense, the first miss was a doe ran by me at about 5 feet took a shot and missed. Second time i was in a climber ( scared to death of climbers) shaking. Doe walked out at about 20 yards and just missed her. Third miss, i was sitting beside the air condition unit beside the house with my crossbow down a big doe walked around the opposite corner of the house and i was not ready. I eased up and shot. The fourth miss i was sitting a double stand and a doe was in the field about 30 yards away. Looked at the wrong dot on my scope and watched the bolt go right under her chest. Would have been a great shot if higher.
All BUCK fever i guess. But i had fun.

I am picturing you using the ac unit as a ground blind. That is some funny stuff.
I have never lived anywhere where I could set up in my own yard and hunt. That would be convenient for putting meat in the freezer.
My neighbor does not like that I practice with my bow on the side of my house.....even though there is an 8-ft tall brick wall separating our lots.

Man 4 misses in one year, that's rough. Alas you at least got to take a shot. I didn't get one off the past two years and have yet to kill my first deer. Hoping that getting into a big hunting club like Chaney lake will help me out this year with better deer population.

Yea it's worth it though IMO. I've had friends in it for 6 years. Lots of land, nice cabin, good fishing and hunting. Splitting it up helps a lot too
