Choice of Weapon
Ok guys it's getting closer and closer to the opening day of gun season. What are you going to be carrying in the woods opening day?
Im thinking about taking my Ruger Carbine 44 magnum. I haven't carried it in years so maybe it's time to blow the dust off of it.

My daughter will be carrying her Rem Mod 770 SS in .243 this morning. If a deer comes into view she'll likely seal the deal, she can shoot no doubt about that. Now I'm changing out this year. After a looong run, since 2006, with my Rem Mod 710 30-06, and much success with it, I'm planning on taking my Winchester Model 70 300 WSM for the first time hunting with it this year. Good luck this season guys and gals!

My wife got me a new Model 70 Winchester Featherweight for my birthday. I’d imagine I’ll be carrying it opening weekend. Usually it’s a toss up between my Remington model 700 Classic 8x57 or my ‘94 30/30.

Re: Choice of Weapon
You know, as opening day approaches, I'm finding it kinda hard NOT to take my ol trusted 06 back out with me. I want to take my 300WSM, but there's something that keeps nagging at me to take my trusted ol faithful 06. Anybody ever feel that way about using another rifle after you've used one for many years? Almost like I'm cheating.

Probably be Remington .270.
By the way, my dad has the same Ruger 44 mag. I love that gun, killed my first deer with it. It was the first deer rifle he bought when he was a teenager.
