Went and did a little scouting.

Post by Deerbuster »

I came out here last Tuesday and cut some areas to get ready for turkey season.
The rain has made it green up very quick.

Wheat field I cut to.

Not many tracks found but, the woods where freshly scratched.
Also saw my 1st snake this year. Almost stepped on it.

Coming home I went through the Obion river bottoms(2nd highest water level at 39.8ft) and got to our land down there and the field had plenty of water in it.

Nope, haven't turkey hunted it hard until last year. Last year they did dirt work in the fields and that kinda scared them away. But their are several hens that lay here. Always here a few birds gobbling on your place as well.

Love getting my scouting done while it's still cool, and you can actually see the trails in use!
[Image We score trophies, but every hunt is, to some extent, a way of measuring ourselves.

Had em all over me last day of deer season. Got sat down and realized they were roosting all up above me.
