270 over 20 years ago. 6 point he was a bench below me and the way I knew he was there was the tree he was rubbing was waving in the wind like a flag pole. Couldn't even see him until he steped up on the bench I was on. Shot him first time and he bolted. Wasn't sure I hit him so shot agin with him on the run. When I found him the first shot hit the mark and the second wasn't needed but it did hit him in the ham

12g slug out of a single shot Stevens. About 30-31 years ago.10' up a tree in white county at the old Maggie Anderson farm.tree had 1/2" of ice on it from the fog and cold.had to shoot it left handed cause the tree trunk blocked me.I had no tree stand .it tore the heart 1/2 apart.I still have the slug. Front chest & it stooped at the liner that seperaters the organs

Remington 760 30.06 (pump)

I was 12 in 1976 when I took that spike!

It is the only rifle I have ever used, and plan to use it again this November. It has been very good to me!

I hunted 1 time when i was a kid back in the 70's and like to froze to death and said i would never do it again. Fast forward my daughter comes home from school sometime in 2010 and said she would like to start deer hunting. Bought all new cloths ( a big, big plus) and a Rossi Youth 243/20 ga combo. Only deer rifle we had. I did not hunt without her. Anyways, after a non productive first year of her first year hunting a buddy calls and says i can go hunting with him in Alabama (season is longer). We load up and take off. When we get there all these guys are in the cabin mingling around and talking. After talking for a while the guys start pulling out there guns, hanging them on the wall with numbers beside the gun hangers. The number was assigned to your bedroom. Man, what some nice guns were hanging on that wall. Hell, not really thinking about it, i jerk out the Rossi youth and the laughter started. It wouldn't fit on the hanger. i had to stand it against the wall. We had a good time over that. Anyways, on day 3 and the last day, after seeing no 8 point or better, the guy who drops me off in the Rhino says just kill something. I was like HELL yes. Right before dark, a medium size doe walked out and i busted her from about 20 yards. You would have thought i had won the lottery when i got back to the cabin. Big bunch of Alabama DUMMIES. They talk funny and think i talk funnier.
