About grown out.

Post by Triple Threat »

Here are 3 that will likely get a pass this year. One is a 3 year old and the others are 2. I plan to only shoot mature deer from here on out, but we all know how that goes when they actually stand 20 yards in front of you.

Any ideas on what the one closest to the camera in the first picture will score. I am having trouble guessing his tine length. He is only about 15 inches wide. I am hoping his g2's are close to 10 and g3's are 5 or 6. His main beams should be 20"s or better. He is gonna be hard to pass because I love the shape of his rack, but I think he will really be nice next year. There is no doubt the one behind him will be awesome next year as a 3 year old. He had a really nice 8pt rack as a yearling last year.

I'm gonna say he'll go about 110"-115". He would get a pass on my farm but he is a very nice buck no doubt, and I wouldn't blame anyone for shooting him!

Pretty sure he is gonna be a little better than 115". I shot one 3 years ago that measured 114" and when looking at the pics side-by-side, he is a few inches larger. I have no desire to shoot one less than 120" but a friend of mine would be thrilled to kill him. I guess we will know if he goes down. The younger one has me more excited, to be honest.

Now that I look at him a little better I think he'll score higher than that. I have an antler scoring app on my phone and I came up with 119 3/8"

115 tops was my guess before scrolling down. Gotta remember the velvet makes them look so much bigger.]

Great deer!! In 2 years those would be HUGE!!!!!

I'm guessing about 115 too, maybe a couple inches more.

Those are mature bucks in my neck of the woods. If I pass on a buck like that chances are he will get killed by a neighbor.

He would never make it to the neighbor's if he walks in front of me. :D
Only you can change it.
