Which one (ammo)
If the rain will hold off another hour I'm gonna do a little shooting. Which one you thank will perform best? I'm going with the copper impact.

See if I can close that gap with other rounds. Not terrible considering I'm shooting off a tailgate at 100 yards though. This was winchester accubond in 165 gr

Looking good so far. Will you be handloading for it?

Re: Which one (ammo)
Thats a pretty good start! Id certainly hope that anybody shooting an oddball caliber like that would be handloading and only shooting factory ammo to get the brass!
Re: Which one (ammo)
Hey, now that you've shot it....whats the recoil like? Ive heard it was kind of stiff, and Ive heard it was nothing.

You know that group was shot at 10 yards from a benchrestshootnmiss wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 11:19 am See if I can close that gap with other rounds. Not terrible considering I'm shooting off a tailgate at 100 yards though. This was winchester accubond in 165 gr

No I don't reload. I stopped shooting due to barrel heating up and I was pressed for time so did not have time to do what I really wanted. I got it real close though. Looks like the 175s in SGK will be the ticket. I should've took pics but didn't, rushing. Two was touching with one flyer, hot barrel.
Recoil ain't bad, less than a 7mag

The Sierra TGK is an awesome bullet but the Nolser LR accubond will give you and extra 200 yards before you drop below the preferred expansion velocity.
How was the recoil?

Re: Which one (ammo)
I think you shot pretty dang good! I wonder who actually makes that Browning ammo but that bullet is top shelf.

Recoil ain't bad at all. I've shot 30/06s with more.Smokyrider wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:26 pm The Sierra TGK is an awesome bullet but the Nolser LR accubond will give you and extra 200 yards before you drop below the preferred expansion velocity.

Re: Which one (ammo)
I been looking at the 6.8 a year before they were sold to the public. Everyone I talked to like them.
My question is: what is your opinion between 6.8 western, 308 and 30-06? Distance and knock down power past 200 yard's?

Re: Which one (ammo)
The 6.8 generates/releases more energy than a 7 mag all the way out to a mile. As far as distance, the BCs are MUCH higher than 308 and 06. It's not a miracle round. Let me make myself clear on that. I'm not on some new bullet hype. It's just a awesome round that you can shoot a lot of game with at long ranges, from moose, bear, deer, etc.Tngrizzly_ wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 5:39 pm I been looking at the 6.8 a year before they were sold to the public.
