A perfect example of what's wrong with our society, a young guy that works with me/under me at the company I work for, will not get 40 hours to save his life. Either he calls in, shows up late, or leaves early. Early 20s still living off mamas tit with no bills. After two weeks I finally asked him dude why can't you be here every day four days a week for 10 hours? You get a three day weekend and you have it made? I don't need 40 hours to get the money I need to live off of..........

That is indeed the mentality of today's generation. Plus, most are thinking that if I don't work, the gubmint will pay for my living, so why take it so seriously.

A lot of this has to do with how they are raised. I have a 23 year old son, and he is not like that. He was raised to know what hard work is. He's worked since he was 15 and has had his own checking account since he was 15. I've got employees his age that have never had a bank account. They go to a grocery store or check cashing store and pay a fee to cash their paychecks.

It's really unbelievable! I've got 2 I'm firing Monday for the same thing. We do work a lot of hours but I'm upfront and tell them the hours that'll be required of them before I hire them but they seem to forget what I said after they get hired.
